A young man simply identified as Augustine Akogwu has been reportedly shot by security men in Epaegbo area of Otukpa, Ogbadibo LGA of Benue State.
DAILY POST gathered that Mr. Akogwu was reportedly shot by members of a local vigilante during a squabble at a polling unit in the community.
According to a resident who gave his name as Joseph Adejoh, “It was the local vigilante that shot him. He was not involved in thuggery; he was shot because he belongs to opposition and he was not in support of what was happening at the polling unit. He was shot while sitting down. However, he is not dead but wounded. The whole issue has been taken care of. The police has taken charge”.
This is contrary to the earlier report on social media that the victim died on the spot.
