The Chairman of Gboko Local Government Area of Benue State, Mrs. Becky Orpin has banned members of political parties from holding political rallies, gathering or mounting of billboards in the area.

The chairman anchored her decision on the recent clashes between some political thugs in the area.

Orpin in a circular personally signed, said the only posters and billboards that were allowed in the area are that of the governor Samuel Ortom and those in elected position.

She said, “That restriction is imposed on pasting on posters and billboards in public places, except those of the Executive Governor and Senator Representing Zone B as well as those elected representatives, who cover Gboko as a constituency, until the ban of political campaign is lifted.‎”
