Benue State Governor, Samuel Ortom, was yesterday stoned by aggrieved youths protesting the killing perpetrated by Fulani herdsmen in the state.

Ortom, who arrived the Wurukum roundabout in Makurdi, the state capital where the aggrieved youths were protesting, was pelted with objects.

They aggrieved youths also booed the governor over his inability to curb the incessant killings by the herdsmen.

One of the protesters, Terhemen Anum, who spoke to News Agency of Nigeria, NAN, said residents of Guma and Logo local government areas “did not have the exact figure of the number of farmers, women, children and the aged who were killed.”

Another protester named Ruth Agba, insisted that herdsmen who were killing Benue farmers and destroying their homes were Boko Haram.

DAILY POST, however, gathered that soldiers drafted to ensure peaceful protest shot dead two persons.

The source who wished not to be mention said, “Soldiers who are supposed to be protecting us from Fulani herdsmen killed two guys during the protest; are soldiers now helping Fulanis? We demand an answer from Buhari.”
