However, when the case came up yesterday at the Margate Court for mention, no plea was taken for want of jurisdiction.

The prosecuting Police Officer, Inspector Hyacinth Gbakor told the court that investigation was still in progress and that enough time should be given to enable the Police conclude investigation.

Counsel to the 3 accused persons, E. C. Teeve (Esq) did not oppose the application for adjournment, saying he would apply for the bail of his clients formally.

The Chief Magistrate, Mr. Isaac Ajim, ordered that the accused persons be remanded at the Makurdi Medium Security Prison and adjourned the case till January 23, 2017, for further mention.

It could be recalled that Sekav had been previously detained for his alleged involvement in the murder of the lecturer who was also an All Progressives Congress (APC) chairmanship aspirant for Buruku local government.

He was, however, released when a serving Senator from Benue State allegedly used his influence to free him.
