Benue attacks: Pope Francis reacts to killing of Rev. Fathers, 17 others by herdsmen

Pope Francis on Sunday decried the attack on a church in Nigeria.

The Pope was reacting to the killing of two Catholic priests and 17 other worshippers in Benue State by Fulani herdsmen last week Tuesday.

Associated Press reports that the pontiff spoke concerning the killings in Nigeria during his remarks to the public in St. Peter’s Square.

The newspaper reports that “The pontiff prayed that Nigeria’s Christian community find harmony and peace.”

DAILY POST had reported that suspected herdsmen, Tuesday morning attacked Ayar Mbalom village in Gwer East local Government Area of Benue State, killing 19 persons and burning down over 35 houses.
