The All Progressives Congress, APC, in Benue State has adopted indirect primary in the state.
The party leadership took the decision at a stakeholders’ meeting, which held in Makurdi, the Benue State capital on Sunday.
Confirming the development to DAILY POST, APC Director of Media and Publicity, Apeh Peterhot, said the party leadership had agreed to adopt indirect primary election.
He said the meeting was attended by party’s big wigs, such as, Sen George Akume, Maj Gen Lawrence Onoja, Sam Odeh, Sen Ameh Ebute, Okpokwu Ogenyi and several other stakeholders.
Apeh said, “Out of 2,000 stakeholders that gathered yesterday, only one person spoke against Indirect Primaries. At the end, majority carried the vote!
“During the meeting, the Benue APC family passed vote of confidence on the leader of the party in the north central Distinguished Sen.Dr. George Akume.
“The family also passed vote of confidence on her National Chairman Comr. Adams Oshomole.
“The Expanded Caucus Benue APC endorsed President Muhammadu Buhari for the second term.
“The party received New members such as, Prince Terhemen Tarzoor, Dr. Hwande Terungwa, Hon. Terhile Ayua, Hon. Solomon Wombo, Hon. Engr. John Tion, Prof Eugene Aliegba, Hon. Usman Abubakar (Young Alhaji), Hon. Matthias Byuan, Hon. Martins Agir and several others.”
