Real Madrid manager, Rafa Benitez, has said that Gareth Bale can play through the middle, after the Welsh man starred against Roma in Melbourne on Saturday.
Bale played behind Jese Rodriguez, who started as a striker, although they lost 7-6 on penalties at the Melbourne Cricket Ground.
Benitez was however impressed with Bale’s display and admitted that he could continue with the experiment.
“It’s an idea, it’s an option,” the former Liverpool boss said.
“Obviously, he can play different positions in the final third. This one is an option and I like this option if he can do well.”
Bale scored 13 times and provided nine assists in 31 league games last term.
