The Senator representing Bayelsa East, Ben Murray-Bruce, has condemned the invasion of the residences of the Senate President, Bukola Saraki, and Deputy Senate President, Ike Ekweremadu.
DAILY POST had earlier reported that the Police on Tuesday morning blocked the Senate President, Bukola Saraki’s convoy at Lake Chad junction in Abuja.
He was reportedly on his way to report to the police headquarters after he was invited for questioning by the Inspector-General of Police (IGP), Ibrahim Idris over Offa bank robbery.
Also the Department of State Security (DSS) and the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) on Tuesday morning laid siege at the residence of the Deputy Senate President, Senator Ike Ekweremadu in Abuja.
Reacting to the development, Ben Bruce described the siege of both lawmakers residences as an act of desperation.
According to him, this has set the country in a state of full dictatorship.
On his Twitter page, he wrote, “The sieges and any use of force on Bukola Saraki, the legitimate Senate President and Ike Ekweradu, his Deputy are an act of desperation.
“I Stand With Saraki and I urge you to do the same. If we allow what is currently being done to them to stand, we are in full-blown dictatorship.”
