Beer truck driver dies in Lagos-Ibadan highway crash

Driver of a truck loaded with Trophy beer has been confirmed dead in an early morning road crash along the Lagos-Ibadan highway.

The road accident, DAILY POST gathered, occurred at the Kyakyama axis, in Ogun State, around 4am on Thursday.

The Ogun State Traffic Compliance and Enforcement (TRACE) Corps confirmed the incident.

TRACE Corps spokesperson, Babatunde Akinbiyi, said the accident was as a result of “reckless driving on the part of truck driver.”

The driver was said to have rammed into Dangote truck parked by the road side.

One person was also said to have sustained fatal injuries in the accident and has since been taken to Victory Hospital, Ogere Remo, for treatment.

The remains of the deceased driver, Akinbiyi said, had been deposited at FOS Mortuary, Ipara, Ogun State.
