Muslim leaders in Ekiti State have urged Muslims and indeed all Nigerians to be patient with the President Mohammadu Buhari-led administration, adding that with prayers and steadfastness, the government would soon lead the country out of the woods.
Speaking at the public prayer of the El-id-Kabir organised by the Ekiti State Central mosque held at the Ado Grammar School, Poly Road, Ado-Ekiti, Ekiti State captial, Alhaji Abdulraheem Olowo who is the Awiye Adinni of the state, urged all muslims to live by the dictates of Islamic religion which include respect and support for constituted authority, maintaining peace with fellow citizens and sharing love among one another. He also enjoined all to be patient with the federal and state governments in the face of the current economic hardship.
Otu Seriki of Ado-Ekiti central Said, “Islam is a religion of peace, compassion and love for one another and we should live by these dictates. It is true that things are quite hard now because of the painstaking efforts of the government to ensure that things are done differently to effect the change we desire by bringing them into power. So, let ‘s be patient and prayerful for our government as only these would help them to fulfill the electoral promises they made. The change promised by President Buhari requires a collective sacrifice on the part of all Nigerians and this is not an easy task. You would recall that even though Prophet Ibrahim, that great servants of Allah who bestowed the legacy of faith on us, did not find it easy to sacrifice his only son, Ishmael for Allah, even though he had promised to give the supreme being whatever He asked of him, ” he said.
Also, encouraging the Muslims faithful, and all Nigerians to be prayerful for government and equally urging the government to urgently find means of alleviating the suffering of the common man, Chief Missionary of the Ahmadiya Muslim Central Missionary Centre of Ekiti State, Alhaji Kamarudeen Ololade Yusuf, said: “the government at all levels must ensure that the suffering being inflicted on the masses as a result of the economic recession is in no time gotten rid off. They must make urgent efforts to improve the condition of life of the people as things are just too bad for everyone currently. This is the reason why they have been supported and voted for.”
Alhaji Kamarudeen also advised that Muslims who could afford to buy the rams for the celebration of the Sallah, should endeavour to share with their neighbours who couldn’t, adding that:” only when this is done can we all have a fulfilling Sallah celebration because the celebration of Sallah itself is to show love to everyone.”
