A Niger Delta group under the aegis of the Centre for Peace & Environmental Justice, CEPEJ on Thursday warned the Federal Government of Nigeria to be careful in handling the agitations of the Indigenous People of Biafra,IPO and its leader, Mazi Nnamdi Kanu in the Eastern Part of the Country.
The group handed down the warning during a chat with select Journalists in Warri today.
The group’s National Coordinator, Comrade Sheriff Mulade stated that Nigeria was sitting on a “keg of gunpowder” and will become “history” if better, peaceful and non-violent approach are not applied in handling the agitations.
Mulade noted that Nigerians are not happy, stressing that,”There are no longer patriotic Nigerians. You can’t just go there and surround the premises of Nnamdi Kanu.”
Mulade urged to he Federal Government to incorporate the traditional ruler in the country in addressing the issues.
Mulade said,”Using only political approach is the reason why the agitations has degenerated to the level it is.”
“People should be calm. The presence of military is not a much threat. The Government is trying to keep peace.”
Mulade stated that the leader of the Indigenous People of Biafra, Mazi Nnamdi Kanu should allow peace to reign in the aastern Part of Nigeria and respect his bail conditions.
He noted that declaring war is good but the end is not palatable.
