“Bayern Munich will defeat Arsenal home and away” – Helmer

Former Bayern Munich skipper, Thomas Helmer, has stated that his old club will brush Arsenal aside in the Champions League Round of 16 and progress into the semi-finals.

Helmer, in fact, insisted that the Bavarians will defeat the Gunners both at the Emirates on Tuesday and in their return leg at the Allianz Arena.

“That should not be a problem. Arsenal always play well, but they are never dangerous. I would not be surprised if Bayern not only wins their home tie, but also the away game in London,” Helmer told TZ Online.

“At the moment you have to say Bayern are playing well in every competition. The coach is doing everything right, the mood in the team is superb, does the game system – and they have no injuries.

“So, once again, it rests on Bayern Munich to defend the honour of the German clubs in Europe after the weak Europa League results this week.”

Jupp Heynckes’ men are 18 points clear at the top of the Bundesliga, while Arsenal were dumped out of the FA Cup by Blackburn on Saturday.
