As Bayern Munich prepare to host Barcelona, in the first leg of their semi-final clash in the Champions League, Jupp Heynckes has stated that Pep Guardiola would not want to give out tips about the Catalans.
Guardiola stepped down as coach of Barca at the end of last season and will take over from Heynckes this summer.
“Pep Guardiola wouldn’t do us any favours out of respect for his former club,” Heynckes told Sky.
“We have a great scouting department, I have two scouts who make me a detailed work-up of every opponent. Moreover, I know everything about Barca.”
Bayern already have the League sewn up, but still thrashed Nurnberg 4-0 on Saturday, to his delight.
“The first half was outstanding. We played well and showed great movement. It was great,” he added.
“If I said that it was expected, I’d be exaggerating. But that reflects the inner workings of the team. This is Bayern Munich. Everyone wants to contribute to the success.
“Every player can play with us at any time.”
