Bayern Munich confirm deal for Mario Gotze

Bundesliga champions Bayern Munich, have confirmed that Mario Gotze will be joining them this summer.

The German midfielder has a deal with Borussia Dortmund, that expires in 2016, but the Bavarians are willing to meet his €37 million buy-out clause.

“Bayern Munich confirm that the club have reached an agreement with Mario Gotze ahead of a transfer on July 1, 2013. Bayern are willing to match the buy-out clause agreed between Borussia Dortmund and Mario Gotze,” the club announced on their official website.

“Bayern intended to inform Dortmund about the transfer after their Champions League match against Real Madrid.”

Dortmund had earlier confirmed that their key player, will depart after the season, as his agent Volker Struth informed them that his client was keen to join Pep Guardiola at the Allianz Arena next season.
