TAN Rally
The Bayelsa State chapter of the Transformation Ambassadors of Nigeria, TAN, a pro Jonathan group, yesterday denied reports that there is division within its ranks, terming the reports as “untrue” and “wicked imagination”.
The group further said instead of being divided, it is focused on the sustained campaigns towards the re-election of President Jonathan during the March 28 presidential election.
TAN also described as fictitious, recent statement credited to a group identified as TAN-Watch, that it was plotting to stone the Bayelsa State governor, Hon. Seriake Dickson, adding that the group, TAN-Watch, is a fake group sponsored to suggest division among the loyalists of President, Dr. Goodluck Jonathan.
The Bayelsa TAN, in a statement issued by its Secretary, Hon. Gesiye Isowo, also said the Chairman and Secretary of the so-called TAN-Watch, Mr. Oguru Ebidouwei and Ebiere Domo respectively are not known members of TAN.
“The claim that members of TAN are pulling out in Bayelsa is baseless and that countless people visit the office of TAN on daily basis to register their support for and interest in TAN.This is owing largely to the present leadership’s desire to open up the NGO for members of the public to participate in its activities as as giants former leadership which they accused of running a closed system.”
On the alleged plot against the State governor, Hon.Seriake Dickson, TAN denied the claim, saying it was untrue and wicked.
”The group is focused on the re-election of the President, Dr. Goodluck Jonathan during the March 28 Presidential election.Though the group in Bayelsa state has come under series of sponsored media attacks, the claims that the leadership of the TAN is factionalised and are involved in fictitious plot to attack the state governor is baseless and a figment of the deluded imagination of the sponsors of the report.”
“The group has no reason to plot against the State Governor, Hon. Seriake Dickson as they are both working to achieve the same goal of the re-election of President Goodluck Jonathan through different platforms. It is unfortunate that the sponsors of the media attacks on TAN have decided to take this infamous route to achieve their selfish desire. This dishonorable path, chosen by these sponsors, is inspite of the unprecedented robust and ever-growing support base created by the present leadership of TAN for the re-election of President Goodluck Jonathan which remains the focus of TAN including the state chapter.”
“The present leadership of TAN in the state is an assemblage of people who have, at one time and another, contributed immensely to the development of the state through various highly exalted positions and have decided to pull their mental and physical resources for the singular purpose of President Jonathan’s re-election.”
