Following the commencement of the Bayelsa State supplementary election, an Ijaw group known as the Eye of Niger Delta, END, has charged security operatives in the state to apprehend any politician attempting to subvert the will of the people.

The leader of the group, Comrade Victor Tari Ben, made the call in Port Harcourt, Rivers State, while speaking with newsmen on efforts of his organization to sensitize youths in Southern Ijaw on the need to give peace a chance.

“Our investigation as an organization showed that politicians were responsible for most of the violence that rocked the last Bayelsa governorship election. In this supplementary, we have sent a strong message to security agencies advising them to arrest any politician who undermines the electoral law,” Ben said.

The group called on people of Southern Ijaw Local Government to vote to do the right thing by voting for the party of their choice and resist any attempt by politicians to sell their conscience.
