The state executive of the All Progressives Congress, APC, in Bayelsa has announced the suspension of a former governor of the state, Chief Timipre Sylva, who was the party’s candidate in last year’s governorship election.

State chairman of the party, Chief Timipa Tiwei Orunimighe and the secretary, Daniel Marlin announced the decision of the party in a statement made available to Vanguard newspaper

Orunimighe, had while addressing newsmen at the party’s national secretariat in Abuja last Wednesday, accused Sylva of side-lining the leadership and trying to corner federal appointments due to the state for only his cronies.

He said the party wants the Minister of State for Agriculture, Heineken Lokpobiri to resign, for allegedly inducing Silva to secure his nomination as minister.
