Bayelsa 2015: Dickson is on his way out – Senator Lokpobiri

Governor Henry Seriake Dickson

The All Progressives Congress (APC), in Bayelsa state has advised Governor Seriake Dickson to start the preparation of his hand-over notes in earnest as the December 5 governorship election draw closer.

The Director-General of the Timipre Sylva Governorship Campaign Organisation, Senator Heinekein Lokpobiri, who gave the advice on Friday, maintained that the tenure of Dickson has elapsed, saying the governor was already on his way out.

Lokpobiri, who represented Bayelsa West in the last Senate, made the remark shortly after the inauguration of the Sylva Campaign Directorate and Secretariat in Biogbolo, a suburb of the state capital.

The Senator, who is a ministerial nominee from Bayelsa, said the difference between the calibre of people in the APC and PDP was clear, insisting that the APC in the state was set for victory at the polls.

He assured that the APC would embark on issue-based campaign to return former governor, Timipre Sylva to power because of what he described as “Sylva’s good stewardship.”

Lokpobiri said: “I want to be on behalf of the campaign organization that our campaign would be issue based. You have seen clearly the difference in our campaign organization with that of the PDP.

“We will tell them that our candidate is the best for Bayelsa. Am sure you know that 58 internal roads in Yenagoa were built by our candidate. The only viable health centre in the state was also built by Sylva.

“I can assure you that Dickson is already out-going. I drove past their PDP campaign office in Yenezue-gene, there was nobody there.”

Chief Sylva, who is gearing to return to the Government House on the ticket of the APC, used the occasion to formally present his running mate, Elder Wilberforce Igiri, to members of the party.

He told the mammoth crowd of party supporters that the choice of Igiri was based on his wealth of experience in the public service and assured that the party would win the next election.

DAILY POST reports that members of the Timipre Sylva Campaign Directorate, include a former information commissioner in the state, Chief Nathan Egba, who is the Director of Media and Publicity.
