The newly-confirmed Head of Civil Service, Bauchi State, Alhaji Liman Bello, took his oath of allegiance and oath of office on Monday.
The event, which took place at the Government House, saw several civil servants, members of the state executive council, traditional rulers and several others in attendance.
In his remark, Governor Muhammad Abubakar urge Bello to see his appointment as a clarion call to help restructure the civil service, position it for excellence and deliver government policies that will improve the standard of living in the state.
He said the civil service remained the engine for driving the state economy and that Bello, being a hardworking, dedicated and versatile individual, merits the top job.
Abubakar also enjoined Bello to ensure efficient and effective service delivery, abide by the code of conduct of the service; ensure prompt promotions on merit and also inject fresh blood and ideas into the service.
“I implore you to improve cordial relationship between government, labour unions, and other critical stakeholders; and reposition and restore the glory of the Bauchi state civil service”, the governor added.
Alhaji Liman Bello, the 20th Head of Civil Service, has impressive academic records from ABU, ATBU and other higher institutions.
He served Bauchi state in numerous capacities in the past and belongs to several professional bodies.
