Bauchi State Government recruits 258 fire fighters, to build four new stations

In its efforts to forestall fire disaster and unemployment in the State, the Bauchi State Government said it has recruited 258 fire fighters in order to add to the additional manpower in the existing fire stations in the State.

The State’s Commissioner of Works Pharm. Bukata Bukar Bayero disclosed this while speaking with journalists on the activities of the Ministry.

According to him, Government had recruited 258 fire fighters in order to add to the additional manpower in the existing fire stations and in its effort to reduce unemployment.

Adding that, government will also procure fire fighting vehicles and equipment for the new stations.

It would be recalled that recently a mysterious fire burnt down several houses and property worth millions of naira were lost in Misau Local Government Area of the State.

DailyPost gathered that over 60 houses were burnt by the mysterious fire and the state government had distributed relief materials to the victims.

Commenting on the fire incident, the Commissioner said, “When the incident happened, the Ministry had deployed fire fighters to the area they did their best and the situation was brought under control”.

Bayero further disclosed that, the State Government will build four fire stations in four Local Government Areas that included Jama’are, Misau, Dass and Ningi, for quick response towards emergencies.

He assured that, the present administration in the State will construct additional roads in various places in the state after the completion of the ongoing road projects which are expected to be completed this year.

The Commissioner further reiterated the State Government’s commitment in ensuring the completion of the ongoing International airport,construction of Ningi- Burra road, Alkaleri – Futuk road before the end of the year to enable this year intending pilgrims depart from the airport.

Bayero decried the dwindling of resources and economic meltdown as the major problems that slowed down the execution of projects in the State.

He advised the people of the state to rally round and support the administration in its effort to execute meaningful projects that have direct bearing on the lives of the citizenry.
