Bauchi bye-election: Police arrests 5 suspects over electoral offences

The Bauchi State police command has confirmed the arrest of five suspects for allege electoral offences

The command Spokesman, DSP Datti Kamal Abubakar confirmed this to newsmen.

He said the suspects were arrested within Bauchi State capital at various spots.

Abubakar added that they are now in police custody and helping the command with vital information.

According to the police Spokesman, investigations were being intensified to know the rationale behind the offences.

“We had said it initially that police will not condone any act of indiscipline in contravention to electoral act in order to ensure a peaceful bye-election,” said Abubakar.

Abubakar further said that the command will bean its searchlight to arrest any thug found violating electoral law.

” The command has deployed enough men to cater for the bye-election in all the nooks and crannies of the seven LGAs where the election is holding,” added Abubakar.
