Bauchi bye-election: APC senatorial aspirant, Shuaibu threatens to dump party

Alhaji Ahmed Shuaibu, the defeated All Progressives Congress, APC, senatorial aspirant, has ahead of next week’s bye-election in Bauchi state, written a petition to the national chairman of the party, Adams Oshiomhole.

The senatorial aspirant, aggrieved over the conduct of the latest APC primaries in the state, threatened to defect with thousands of his supporters to the opposition party if his grievances were not addressed.

This was contained in the petition addressed to the APC national chairman dated 26/7/2018, but obtained by DAILY POST on Friday.

The senatorial aspirant demanded a full-scale investigation and nullification of what he described as a purported primary election.

Shuaibu alleged that Governor Abubakar ordered his aides to make delegates vote for his anointed candidate or lose relevance in the APC.

“Government aides in company of thugs snatched ballot boxes in day light and in connivance with security men and were not challenged during the bye-election primary,” he alleged.

The senatorial aspirant threatened that he and his supporters will move out of the APC if something was not done to nullify the primaries.

“I urge the national chairman of our great party to without any further delay nullify the senatorial bye-election primary to avoid another gale of defections from the ruling party to the opposition,” he warned.
