Bauchi APC guber aspirants speak on Gov. Abubakar emerging as party’s candidate

All Progressives Congress, APC, gubernatorial aspirants in Bauchi State: former police affairs minister, Yakubu Ibrahim Lame, and former health minister, Muhammed Ali Pate, have stated that no primary election took place in the state to have produced Governor Abubakar as the party’s governorship candidate for the 2019 election.

The APC guber aspirants spoke separately to DAILY POST in an exclusive interview in Bauchi on Sunday.

They said it’s a blatant lie and rumour that APC gubernatorial primary election has been conducted in the state

“We just heard that Governor Abubakar has been declared winner of APC guber primaries while three other aspirants are still waiting the arrival of the committees from Abuja for the commencement of the exercise,” Lame said.

According to him, there was no guber primary election that held in all the 20 LGAs of the state, even though there are reports that Gov. Abubakar had won the primary election.

Pate, on his part, stated that the guber aspirants will remain resolute and determined to watch with keen interest how they would emerge as guber candidate of the party through due process of the electoral law.

” We will work in harmony to ensure justice is done to all other guber aspirants of APC as no amount of frustrating our effort will work since we are law-abiding citizens and we still remain the party’s card carrying members,” Pate said.

He cautioned that any attempt from any quarters to stop them from contesting during the guber primary will be resisted, and urged the APC headquarters to ensure that justice is done to all aspirants.
