Barcelona vice-president, Jordi Mestre says Liverpool do not want the fee they have received for playmaker, Philippe Coutinho to become public knowledge.
Coutinho officially completed his transfer to Barcelona on a five-and-a-half-year contract, and figures of between £142m and £146m have been reported in the media.
On Monday, when quizzed on the money spent on the 25-year-old at a press conference in Spain, Mestre claimed that he was unable to disclose any further information.
Mestre said: “If I say anything, it would break the pact we have with Liverpool. I don’t like it but I cannot give any number.”
Liverpool in 2013, paid just £8.5m to sign Coutinho from Italian giants, Inter Milan.
