Barcelona vs Chelsea: Lampard hails one player after 2-1 pre-season friendly win

Chelsea manager, Frank Lampard has described Striker Tammy Abraham as a goalscorer, following his side’s 2-1 victory over Barcelona in a pre-season friendly on Tuesday.

Chelsea ended the game as 2-1 winners over Barcelona in the pre-season friendly on Tuesday.

Tammy Abraham pounced on Jorginho’s intercepted pass to go round Marc Ter-Stegen and make it 1-0 in the first half.

Although the Spanish giants tried to fight their way back into the match, the Blues made it 2-0 late in the game, thanks to Ross Barkley.

There was still time for Ivan Rakitic to pull one back for Barca, who were without most of their top stars.

Speaking after the match, Lampard was quoted by Football London as telling reporters: “I won’t get carried away with anything about this performance.

“Tammy is a goalscorer and he’s hungry for goals.

“Now, it’s his time to prove it for Chelsea. To get his goal will put him in good stead. There’s competition. Mason’s had a great trip and he’s announced himself into the first-team squad.”
