Barcelona set to activate Jean Michael Seri’s £36m release clause

Barcelona are preparing to trigger the £36million (€40m) release clause of Nice midfielder, Jean Michael Seri and a deal could be wrapped up early next week.

The La Liga club is desperate to bolster their squad, following the departure of Neymar to Paris Saint-Germain in a world-record move.

Seri was a stand-out player in Ligue 1 last season, as his team qualified for the Champions League. The 26-year-old is seen as a deeper lying midfielder and contrary to some reports, he is not believed to be an alternative signing to Philippe Coutinho.

Barca are still very keen on Liverpool’s playmaker, despite having recently seen a third bid rejected by the Anfield club.

Spanish publication, Mundo Deportivo, reports the imminent arrival of Seri.
