David Villa, Cesc Fabregas, Andres Iniesta and Martin Montoya, all scored as Barcelona – without the talismanic Lionel Messi – ended the season in imperious manner, defeating Malaga 4-1 at the Camp Nou.
Villa opened scoring as early as the 3rd minute, tapping in Pedro’s cross before Fabregas combined superbly with Iniesta to curl in the second.
Barca, who had already been confirmed as champions, then added a third with defender Montoya smashing in an excellent goal. Iniesta added the fourth following a quick counter-attacking move early in the second half, Pedro Morales grabbed a consolation goal.
Despite the loss, Malaga earned themselves a spot in next season’s Europa League, while the Catalans equalled Real Madrid’s title-winning haul of last season.
