Barcelona confirm interest in signing Pogba

Barcelona president Josep Bartomeu, has admitted that the club is keen on signing Paul Pogba from Juventus.

Pogba faced the Spanish giants in the final of the UEFA Champions League, but was not able to prevent his side from losing 3-1. Although Barca cannot sign players until January 2016, Bartomeu has expressed his interest in the France international.

“It is true that Pogba is a leading target of ours and obviously we are interested, but I can’t say anything more,” he told Telefoot.

“We are forbidden to recruit players until January, so I can’t talk about it”.

Barca sporting director Ariedo Braida was pictured talking to Pogba’s agent Mino Raiola ahead of the final in Berlin, but Juventus director general Giuseppe Marotta insisted that the player is going nowhere.

“His position is different. Pogba has a multi-season contract, is growing year on year and we need quality players to improve the team.

“In this case, the desire of the club is predominant over that of the player. Our rapport is excellent, we don’t want to sell him, there are no negotiations and we have no intention of starting any”, he said.
