US President, Donald Trump, has responded to the Barcelona attack by members of the Islamic State (ISIS) which left about 13 persons dead.
He went on to Twitter to call on the people of Barcelona to be “tough and strong”.
Trump added in another tweet posted 45 minutes later: “Study what General Pershing of the United States did to terrorists when caught. There was no more Radical Islamic Terror for 35 years!”
Similarly, French President Emmanuel Macron voiced solidarity with Spain on Barcelona attack.
“We remain united and determined,” he said on Twitter, describing it as a “tragic attack”.
He later tweeted in Spanish: “Solidarity with Barcelona. We are by your side.”
Also, the office of German chancellor Angela Merkel also condemned the “revolting attack.”
Her spokesman Steffen Seibert said in a tweet: “We are thinking with profound sadness of the victims of the revolting attack in Barcelona – with solidarity and friendship alongside the Spanish people.”
