Roberto Mancini has advised Mario Balotelli to make Zlatan Ibrahimovic his role model.
Balotelli has struggled to make an impact at Liverpool, since his £16m move from AC Milan in the summer and has only scored twice for the Reds.
The Italian striker has now been banned for the visit of Arsenal this Sunday by the FA, for using inappropriate language in a Instagram post.
Mancini, who worked with Balotelli at Inter Milan and Manchester City, has urged the player to study Ibrahimovic.
“Mario would like to emulate Ibrahimovic. But Zlatan has a few more years and has accumulated a degree of experience, quality, class and strength that [Balotelli] is yet to acquire, even though he’s been playing for many years,” Mancini said, speaking at a University event in Milan.
“Balotelli has that potential and no doubt they were extraordinary together back in the day.
“Mario was so young, now he dwells a bit too much on so many things. I hope and wish for him to become like Ibrahimovic.”
