Ballon d’Or 2018: Neymar names his three-man final shortlist to win award

Paris Saint-Germain forward, Neymar has named three players that he feels should make the three-man final shortlist for this year’s Ballon d’Or award.

Neymar, who was third in 2015 and 2017, think Barcelona star, Lionel Messi and Juventus forward, Ronaldo should be contesting for their sixth Ballon d’Or.

But instead of putting himself on their level, he selected his fellow club teammate, Kylian Mbappe, who won the 2018 FIFA World Cup with France.

“I would say, Ronaldo, Messi and Mbappe,” Neymar told AS when asked who he reckons has a chance of winning the 2018 Ballon d’Or award.

He added, “We see in each of our matches the potential that he [Mbappe] has. He exploits it every time, even if he is only 19.”

Messi and Ronaldo have dominated the award in the past decade.

The pair had won an incredible five awards each, with Ronaldo equaling Messi’s tally last year.

The 2018 Ballon d’ Or award will take place on 3rd December, 2018.
