Balat to be buried February 27

Thursday, February 27 has been fixed for the interment of presidential aide and former Minister of works, Sen. Isaiah Balat.

The chairman of the Burial Planning Committee and former Kaduna State Commissioner of Finance, John Ayuba told newsmen yesterday that the former works Minister will be commited to mother earth in his country home, Bafai Gora, in Zango Kataf local government area of Kaduna State.

According to him, the remains of the Senator who died Tuesday afternoon after a brief illness at the National Hospital, Abuja, will be laid in state at his Kaduna residence along Gora Close in Ungwan Rimi, GRA.

He said, “The burial of Sen. Isaiah Balat would hold on Thursday, February 27, by 10am, and this will be done after the wake-keep at his Kaduna residence at 4pm on Wednesday, the 26th.”

Meanwhile, more tributes have continued to pour in for the late Minister.

The Northern States Governors’ Forum (NSGF) in a statement signed by Governor Babangida Aliyu’s chief press secretary, Danladi Ndayebo, yesterday, said that Balat lived a life of dedication to the cause of Nigeria’s unity and development, and prayed God to grant the people of Kaduna State and members of his immediate family the fortitude to bear the loss.
