Super Eagles handler Stephen Keshi, has revealed that his team’s 2-0 victory over the Bafana Bafana in the Nelson Mandela challenge, was never in doubt.
Uche Nwofor scored twice, as the Eagles overcame the hosts at the Moses Mabhida Stadium in Durban.
“The win was not a surprise to us at all. I knew that my boys were going to from the start and so I was not surprised by the results,“ he said.
Keshi also stated that his South African counterpart, Gordon Igesund, has to work more on his players to improve.
“They (Bafana Bafana) were a good side but I feel that they can still improve on their standards,” he added.
The former Togo boss was however pleased with the workout, especially as his boys prepare to face the Flames of Malawi in a crucial World Cup qualifier.
He said: “Our main goal is to do well against Malawi and that is what we are worried about more than anything. The Bafana game was good, but it did not really challenge us that much.”
