The Ogun State Commissioner of Police, Ahmed Iliyasu, has warned that there is no hiding place for criminals in the state.
He revealed that the command had made tactical deployment and improved on its intelligence network towards taming criminal activities in the state.
He made this statement on Tuesday at the command’s headquarters, Eleweran, Abeokuta, shortly before he paraded 37 suspects, who were arrested for offences such as armed robbery, cultism, murder, kidnapping, and theft.
Iliyasu said his command was battle ready to deal with any band of criminals who might want to disturb the peace of the state.
He said, “You don’t sell panic in order to solve a crime, either via your actions or whatever guise.”
Iliyasu said the command would be deploying community policing in the remote parts of the state to nip crime in the bud.
He said, “It is a matter of nomenclature. Crime is a crime. Crime is dynamic. Crime has no map. Whether Yahoo, Badoo or any other mythology you come, we are going to demystify you. We will get you and we have been getting them.
“We have made our tactical and covert deployment and we have improved our intelligence network. We are trailing any suspect that is coming to the state with any intention to disturb the peace of this state.
“This is not a place for them. They should understand. We have established community policing into the remote areas.”
