In a bid to end the menace of the dreaded badoo group, the Lagos State Commissioner of Police, Mr Fatai Owoseni, has recently led some senior officers of the Lagos police command to an emergency meeting with the traditional rulers in Ikorodu.
The meeting conducted with the Obas and other traditional leaders was attended by Owoseni, the DC (CID), DCP Bolaji Salami, the Area Commander – Ikorodu, ACP Garuba, the Commander RRS, ACP Olatunji Disu and other DPOs to discuss collaborative efforts with residents of the area to end the menace and to put a stop to the ill-fated jungle justice penalty meted out on suspected Badoo members.
The police boss emphasized the need to subject suspected badoo members to proper scrutiny rather than engaging in mob action which could defeat the opportunity of screening and interrogation that might give meaningful information to the police.
Several resolutions were also made at the meeting, including the development of a neighbor watch which could help in boosting the security alertness of residents and help in curbing the menace of ritual killing which has besieged Ikorodu for months.
It would be recalled that the Lagos State Police Command recently uncovered a shrine believed to be owned by the badoo group.
