Reno Omokri, a former presidential aide has condemned the invitation extended to Kassim Afegbua, spokesperson of former Head of State, Ibrahim Babangida by the Department of State Service, DSS.

The secret police had yesterday invited Afegbua for a chat with its Director General, Lawal Daura, following the controversial statement he released against President Muhammadu Buhari.

In a tweet via his Twitter handle, the former aide to ex-President Goodluck wondered why DSS would invite Afegbua instead of the former President.

Omokri, also wondered why former President Olusegun Obasanjo was not invited for cautioning Buhari against seeking re-election in 2019.

He wrote: “Obasanjo wrote his letter, which was more critical of Buhari than Babangida’s letter and no one declared him wanted. Babangida wrote a letter released through his spokesman and the police and now DSS have invited him for questioning. Why face the spokesman and leave the main man?”

The former Presidential aide also lashed out at some indicted appointees who had refused to tender their resignation.

“In England, Lord Michael Bates was a few minutes late for question time in Parliament and because of that he tendered his resignation. In Nigeria, Buhari’s appointees are indicted in the matter of a few million dollars and still retain their seats and the confidence of their boss,” he wrote.
