Ghana international and Chelsea full-back, Abdul Baba Rahman has joined German Bundesliga side, Schalke 04 on a season-long loan from Chelsea, both clubs confirmed on Tuesday.
The left-back started only nine times last season in 23 appearances for Chelsea, including his debut in the Champions League.
New Chelsea boss, Antonio Conte has sent him on loan to Schalke, who finished fifth in Germany’s top flight last season.
Schalke coach, Markus Weinzieri, said; “Abdul is a strong attacking left back, one who I have a lot of faith in. He will fit in well here, because of his excellent attitude.”
The coach worked with Baba, while he was on loan at another German side, Augsburg.
Baba was part of the Ghana side that reached the 2015 Africa Cup of Nations final, and lost to Ivory Coast on penalties.
