Writer's picture: AdminAdmin

Nigeria have beaten hosts Cameroon 1-0, to win this year’s African Women Cup of Nations.

Desire Oparanozie scored the only goal of the game in the second half, with only six minutes of the encounter left. The striker pounced on a loose ball, to fire under Annette Ndom from a tight angle.

It is the second time the Super Falcons have defeated a host nation to win the tournament.

This also makes it the 8th time that the Super Falcons have conquered the continent.

For coach Florence Omagbemi, she becomes the first woman to win the tournament as a player and coach.
