No fewer than six persons, including a ten-year-old boy were on Friday feared dead while four others sustained grave injuries in a motor accident.
The accident, which involved a bus belonging to one of the South-South States and a trailer, occurred along the East-West road, close to Beta Glass in Ughelli North Local Government Area of Delta State.
DAILY POST reports that the incident occurred at about 8pm Thursday when the bus conveying some passengers from Warri to Akwa-Ibom State suddenly lost control and rammed into a trailer parked along the road.
Immediately the accident occurred, officials of the Ughelli Unit Command of the Federal Road Safety Corps, FRSC arrived the scene and rushed some of the injured victims to Ughelli Central Hospital for treatment.
In a chat with DAILY POST, the Ughelli Unit Commander of the FRSC, Olusegun Olusola confirmed the death of six persons, which included a ten year old teenager.
He noted that four other passengers rushed to the hospital were in a life-threatening condition due to the degrees of injuries they sustained.
According to Olusola, “The accident involved a Toyota Hiace bus with registration number APP 218 XT.”
“The bus rammed into a trailer parked along the road leading to the death of the six persons, including a 10-year-old male child while four other passengers suffered various degrees of life threatening injuries”, Olusola said.
