Rafael Nadal failed to reach the Australian Open semi-finals, after he was beaten by Tomas Berdych.
The match ended 6-2 6-0 7-6 (7-5) and it meant that Berdych was able to end a 17-match losing streak against the Spaniard.
If the Czech had lost for an 18th successive time against Nadal, it would have set a new record for men’s tennis.
Berdych will now face Andy Murray or Nick Kyrgios in the last four of the tournament.
