Civil society organizations coming under the auspices of the Situation Room has faulted the decision of the All Progressives Congress governorship candidate in the ongoing election in Kogi State, Abubakar Audu, for openly displaying his ballot paper after thumb-printing, saying the action was wrong.
The election monitoring group is a platform of civil society organisations concerned about elections, good governance and other issues in Nigeria.
Audu had shown off his ballot paper yesterday, which indicated he voted for himself, to a cheering crowd at his polling unit.
But condemning this in a tweet containing the picture of Audu displaying his thumb-printed ballot paper, the group wrote, “This is wrong… Voting should be secret. #KogiDecides.”
