Borussia Dortmund’s forward, Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang, has won the 2015 Glo/CAF African Player of the Year, beating Yaya Toure (Manchester City, Ivory Coast) and Andre Ayew (Swansea, Ghana) to the prize.
Toure finished in second place, while Ayew came third.
Aubameyang emerged as winner, thanks to votes from head coaches/technical directors of the national associations affiliated to CAF.
It is the first time the Gabon international is winning the prize and ends Toure’s four-year run of taking home the plaque.
Aubameyang has scored 27 times in 27 games across all competitions for Dortmund and is attracting attention from Arsenal.
