A former Governor of Akwa Ibom State, Obong Victor Attah has urged President Muhammadu Buhari to rescue Leah Sharibu, the kidnapped Christian Dapchi schoolgirl, even as he plans to send more looters to jail.
Attah made the call at a media briefing in Lagos on Thursday.
The former governor said “it is necessary for Buhari to do so, so he could consolidate on his feats” in his first term.
“Buhari should free Leah Sharibu just as he plans to jail looters,” he said.
President Buhari on his return to Nigeria from London on Sunday, had vowed to jail looters.
Attah further called for Nigeria to be restructured, saying the country was doomed if this does not happen urgently.
Meanwhile, Leah Sharibu is the only Dapchi schoolgirl still being held by Boko Haram terrorists after refusing to renounce her religion.
