Nigeria’s erstwhile Vice-President and a presidential aspirant on the platform of the All Progressives Congress, APC, Alhaji Atiku Abubakar, has pleaded with party’s delegates from Kano State to settle for a wise choice in the forthcoming presidential primaries of the party.

Making this plea when he visited the state yesterday to woo delegates ahead of the party’s primaries slated for December, Atiku said, “I know you have a candidate so if you vote for Kwankwaso, he is our own but if you vote for me I’m also your man for long.”

The former Vice President revealed that all the four APC presidential aspirants had promised to accept any person that eventually emerges as presidential candidate of the party, adding that they would ensure that the party defeats the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in next year’s presidential election.

Disclosing this while meeting with the delegates at Africa House in Kano Government House, he emphasized that those of them vying for the party’s ticket also agreed not to undermine one another during their respective campaigns.

Atiku, who said Kano State was his second home, stressed that he would be very happy if the APC forms the central government rather than the opposition party.

The APC Chairman in the state, Alhaji Umar Haruna Doguwa, in an earlier remarks appreciated Atiku for visiting the state, even though a son of Kano State was aspiring for same position. He added that the state has over 400 delegates eligible to participate in the presidential primaries of the APC.
