Atiku speaks on his presidential ambition, reveals why he parted ways with Buhari

Atiku Abubakar, former Vice President has given reasons for parting ways with President Muhammadu Buhari.

The Waziri of Adamawa said he parted ways with Buhari because the ruling All Progressives Congress, APC, “started on a wrong footing.”

In an interview with BBC Hausa Service in London, the former Vice President noted that his “suggestions” were never considered by the Buhari-government.

He said, “The APC started on a wrong footing after President Buhari assumed office. Also, the way the government is being run; I made my suggestions but it seems they were deemed not important to them.”

Abubakar also said he was aspiring to be President because he wanted to do the right things he could not during the eight years he served as vice president.

“I want to be the President of Nigeria because I would be able to do things I could not do as vice president,” he said.

The former Vice President, who resigned his membership of APC, had returned to his former party, the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP).
