A former Kogi State Governor, Alhaji Ibrahim Idris, has said the failure of the presidential candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party, Alhaji Atiku Abubakar, to win next month’s presidential election was not an option for Nigerians.

According to him, the only way out of the present predicament across the nation was for all to work for the victory of Atiku Abubakar, a former Vice-President.

Idris stated this yesterday at the inauguration of the Kogi state chapter of the PDP Presidential Campaign Council in Lokoja, the state capital.

He said, “Victory is a must. We have not enjoyed anything from the current government. We have not benefited anything from the current administration.

“The only way out for us is to win the 2019 elections by ensuring we deliver the Atiku/Obi ticket.

“For the outcome of the general elections to favour the party and its presidential candidate, Atiku Abubakar, all hands must be on deck and members of the party, affiliate organisations and supporters must work round the clock to ensure effective mobilisation of voters from their immediate environment.”

Speaking also, the campaign council’s Director-General, Clarence Olafemi, urged all members of the council to be united and work hard to Atiku’s ouster of incumbent president Muhammadu Buhari at the polls.

“We have a task at hand and we must take it seriously and work very hard to deliver it,” he said.
