Atiku: APC speaks on hiring thugs to storm PDP secretariat

The All Progressives Congress, APC, has said that former Vice President, Atiku Abubakar rented crowd on Thursday at the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, headquarters in Abuja.

The ruling party stated this in reaction to the violence which occurred on Thursday as Atiku submitted his expression of interest and nomination forms at the PDP headquarters in Abuja.

DAILY POST gathered that a mammoth crowd stormed the gate of the building as he arrived.

Youths believed to be of Atiku’s opposing camp clashed with the former VP’s supporters, a situation that triggered pandemonium.

However, the PDP in a statement blamed APC for the incident.

But, reacting, the acting National Publicity Secretary of the APC, Yekini Nabena speaking to newsmen in Abuja denied knowledge of the incident.

Nabena, however, noted that fight started at the event after the hired crowd fought over money they were being paid.

He said, “Our party had nothing to do with what happened in the PDP.

“We have it on good authority that it was the hired crowd of the presidential aspirant (Atiku) who fought over the money they were expecting and did not get.

“PDP should leave the APC out of their troubles.”
