The Academic Staff Union of Universities, ASUU, on Tuesday, shunned their meeting with the Federal Government aimed at resolving the ongoing industrial action.
ASUU President, Biodun Ogunyemi, confirmed the development to Channels Television.
Ogunyemi said the union met, discussed its new offer from the Federal Government and has submitted a proposal to the government.
According to Ogunyemi, the union will only accept a meeting if government replies its proposal.
Recall that ASUU had on August 13, 2017 commenced an indefinite strike action.
In a bid to resolve the impasse, the Minister of Labour and Productivity, Chris Ngige had scheduled a meeting with the union today.
Those expected at the botched meeting include, the Ministers of Education and Finance, Mallam Adamu Adamu and Mrs. Kemi Adeosun, the Chairman, National Income Salaries, and Wages Commission, Executive Secretary, National Universities Commission and the President of the Nigerian Labour Congress (NLC) Comrade Ayuba Wabba.
