The Academic Staff Union of Polytechnics (ASUP), has suspended its strike today, after 81 days of inactivity.

Chairman of the Union, Dr. Chibuzor Asumogba, revealed this in a phone conversation with Vanguard and said that the decision was taken by the National Executive Committee of the Union, after the Joint Committee of the Senate and House of Representative on Education intervened.

“All lecturers are to resume work at their various institutions today,” he said.

The Union has given government representatives a month to look into their demands and release the white paper on the visitation panel to federal polytechnics.
