The Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, has stated that the alleged assault on Governor Ayodele Fayose of Ekiti State was a strong indication that the All Progressives Congress, APC, is leading a political war ahead of Saturday’s gubernatorial election in the state.
Spokesman of the Bauchi state chapter of the PDP, Alhaji Yayanuwa Zainabari, told DAILY POST in Bauchi that the failure of the ruling party at the national level is currently hunting it, especially when the APC failed to conduct credible congresses.
“Maybe, APC has seemed to forget that Ekiti state election is not that of its congresses where errands’ names were only smuggled in without proper election, resulting in crisis that has finally consumed the partly,” he said.
Zainabari stressed that the alleged attack on Fayose by policemen has exposed APC and its agents as dictators operating in a democracy.
According to the PDP spokesman, the opposition party will not allow itself to be intimidated or harassed, but would remain focused on retaining power in Ekiti state.
“Nigerians should know that APC has slided, and has lost hope of wining election in Ekiti state as well as ahead of the 2019 general elections. This is because they have failed to fulfill their campaign promises,” he added.
Zainabari urged the United Nations to probe President Muhammadu Buhari on the rational for the heavy deployment of security in Ekiti state and their “undemocratic use” for the election.
